Today’s poet: Oscar Wilde!
Robin is a confessing fan of the gothic stuff by Wilde; here comes one play and one novel.
Salome
A play about the true motives of Salome wanting the head of John the Baptist on a silver plate after doing an erotic dance for King Herod who is quite decadent.
Brilliant dialogues and a cool plot. A gothic masterpiece.
The Picture of Dorian Gray
Robin believes that Wilde saw a picture of himself as a young man and compared it to his reflection in the mirror, having the idea the it would be cool if it was the other way round: if he would still look like he did in the picture when looking in the mirror and his face in the picture would have aged instead.
