Robin saw the 2-part film Nymph()maniac by Lars von Trier from 2013.
Storyline
Nymphomaniac Joe (Charlotte Gainsbourg) is found beaten up in the snow by middle-aged bachelor Seligmann (Stellan Skarsgard), who takes her home. There she tells her life story. Seligmann eventually confesses that he is still untouched.
Robin’s thoughts:
The truth about Seligmann unfortunately makes the end of the frame story somewhat predictable.
The heroine’s life story also doesn’t explain why she became a sex addict. (One possibility, for example, would be commitment anxiety with sex with constantly changing partners as a substitute for deeper relationships.)
On the other hand, Robin found the exceptionally good acting performances positive.
Verdict:
Why not.
