The World’s End is a 2013 US-British-Japanese action science fiction comedy directed by Edgar Wright and starring Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Paddy Considine, Martin Freeman and Eddie Marsan.
After Shaun of the Dead (2004) and Hot Fuzz (2007), the film is the third part of the Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy, jokingly referred to by screenwriters Pegg and Wright.
5 anti-heroes did a pub crawl in their youth, but only made it to the 9th of 12 pubs. Meanwhile all of them have a regular life, except the leader (Pegg) who is having his midlife crisis. This one makes his buddies from the old days to do a new pub tour this time until the end.
They realize that humanoid robots are now controlling the city. While one after the other are replaced by identical looking robots the rest tries to finish the pub crawl.
“Very funny dialogues! If you found Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz cool, you’ll like The World’s End too.”
