The Music Of Lovecraft’s Erich Zann – But What Did It Sound Like?

Robin read the story “The Music of Erich Zann” by H. P. Lovercraft, in which Mr Zann plays spooky music alone in his room at night to keep the evil spirits of the universe from invading Earth.

Robin watched a couple of video adaptations to hear what this music sounded like. One was a puppet cartoon and the music sounded like Arnold Schoenberg’s, the other was a computer made cartoon with music like from a standard horror movie.
Robin would have expected something like the ride through the light tunnel from Stanley Kubrik’s “2001 – A Space Odissey”.

But since Erich Zann was alone and had neither orchestra nor choir, it probably sounded like that:
