The Eyes Of My Mother

The Eyes of My Mother is a 2016 American black-and-white horror film written, edited and directed by Nicolas Pesce in his directorial debut.

It is about the journey of a young girl into psychopathy and serial killing after having a traumatic childhood experience.

There are no jump-scares whatsoever. The whole film is rather subtle and relies on the viewers drawing their own conclusions.

However, Robin doesn’t understand the deeper meaning of the title. And is her father aware of the villain locked up in the barn and that he later is blinded and muted? And why doesn’t he call the police? Does she kill him?

Anyway – if you enjoy experimental films like The Lighthouse you could give this a go.
