Review: The Cabin in the Woods (2011)

Robin had the chance to watch the American horror comedy The Cabin in the Woods from 2011.

It quotes a lot of horror classics, predominantly Evil Dead and Westworld (because of the scientists underground), but also Cube and lovecraftian ideas (or films Robin didn’t see) of Gods hiding underground.

The film is intended to be satirical which Robin found a little worn-out and overly constructed. However, actress Anna Hutchison as Jules is sexy and looks cool in the nude, and Robin found the character of Marty, played by Franz Kranz, quite likeable.

Robin believes that the targeted audience is very young people since they might not be aware of many things that Robin found a little dated, but if you are one of them you can give it a go.
