Bohemian Rhapsody (2018) – Any Good?

Robin watched the 2018 drama/biography Bohemian Rhapsody directed by Bryan Singer, and gives us his impressions.

Storyline:
The film tells the story of the British rock band Queen from 1970 to 1985, highlighting Freddy Mercury’s homosexuality and eventually his infection with AIDS.
Very good is the performance of the actors, especially Gwilym Lee as Brian May, but Rami Malek as Mercury is also very good. Same body language!

Not so good are the liberties the film takes with the correct sequence of events: Mercury had received his AIDS diagnosis AFTER Live Aid, for example.

Robin’s Verdict:
Despite the partially incorrect dates, the film is well worth seeing for the outstanding performance of the actors and the beautiful music.
